  • Bavaria’s labour minister Christine Haderthauer awards OHRIS certificate to aerospace company for its exemplary commitment to occupational health and safety and plant security
  • OHRIS (Occupational Health and Risk Management System) benefits employees, companies and the state in equal measure

The certificate confirms that the measures taken by Premium AEROTEC to cover all aspects of occupational health and safety at its Augsburg plant fully meet the demanding OHRIS criteria. Specifically tailored to the company’s requirements, the health and safety management system employed reduces the number of accidents at work and disruptions to business operations, and consequently the downtimes that these entail.

“Every company needs active, motivated and healthy employees as a basis for success. OHRIS can help lastingly improve health protection for employees. Some 360 companies in Bavaria are currently using OHRIS by choice and with total conviction – and the numbers are still rising. The increasingly widespread use of OHRIS is also an indication of Bavarian companies’ willingness to assume responsibility. I am particularly pleased to present this award to Premium AEROTEC for its exemplary commitment to occupational health and safety and plant security at the Augsburg site,” said Bavarian labour minister Christine Haderthauer.

“OHRIS creates a classic win-win situation for everyone involved. The advantages for companies and their employees are plain for all to see,” said Wolfram Sauer, Head of Human Resources and member of the Board of Management of Premium AEROTEC. “Every prevented accident and every ergonomically enhanced workplace protects the health of our employees. At the same time, reduced accident-related downtimes help to avoid costs. In choosing OHRIS, we have opted for a system that guarantees maximum safety and meets international standards.”

For the OHRIS certification of Premium AEROTEC’s Augsburg site, the competent trade inspectorate re-assessed the OHRIS-based health and safety management system previously introduced voluntarily by the company. The assessment of the system and the audit carried out on site at the production facilities confirmed that all the requirements had been met.

Premium AEROTEC generated revenues of 1.3 billion euros in 2011. Its core business is the development and manufacturing of metal and carbon composite aerostructures and the associated equipment and production systems. The company has production plants in Augsburg, Bremen, Nordenham and Varel in Germany, and in Braşov (Romania).
