Reporting and Monitoring

The Ethics & Compliance programme establishes independent processes to report on and monitor Ethics & Compliance challenges.

To ensure that the Compliance Organisation is both independent and close to the business, Compliance Officers throughout the Group report to operational management as well as to the Compliance Organisation. This is reflected at the very top of the hierarchy, with the Airbus Group Chief Compliance Officer reporting both to the CEO and the Audit Committee which oversees the functioning of the Group-wide Compliance Organisation as a whole.

Continuous improvement

Airbus Group's Ethics & Compliance programme is focused on the continuous improvement of all internal compliance procedures and policies to meet the highest global standards. To keep pace with a changing environment, benchmarks against international guidance (for example, OECD Anti-corruption guidelines, US Federal Sentencing guidelines, UK Bribery Act) are conducted regularly.
Furthermore, regular internal audits assess the effectiveness of the Ethics & Compliance programme. In 2012, two main internal audits were conducted:

  • Anti-fraud audit
  • Enterprise Risk Management Implementation audit
